BikeHoward, the Howard County Bicycle Master Plan (https://bikehoward.com/), provides guidance for improvements for transportation and recreational bicycling, both on-street and off-street. Recommendations are provided in the general areas of infrastructure improvements, policy and programs. The original Master Plan was approved in 2016 and the County Office of Transportation has been working on an Update that takes into account growth, changing traffic patterns, and greater interest in bicycling for recreation and transportation.
The BikeHoward 2026 Draft Update Version is now completed and under review by the County Council for their consideration of adoption through resolution as CR160-20226. https://apps.howardcountymd.gov/olis/LegislationDetail/15145/CR160-2026. There will be a Public Hearing on Tuesday September 22nd at 7 PM where citizens can testify virtually by WEBEX or in person or submit written comments. You can review the document at links below
