Our friends at the Howard County Cycling Club (HoCo Cyclists) are holding a Memorial Ride and charity fundraiser in honor of Randy Nixon a Howard County cycling icon who passed away last June at 68. For those of you who didn't know or ride with Randy he was active with the Baltimore Bicycle Club, the Glenelg Gang riding group, the Sportif Coaching Group Cycling Team as well as HoCo Cyclists and othe bicycling organizations. He participated in numerous road and cross races into his 60s, and he was the long-time owner of Nixon Farm and event venue off Rt 97 in Glenwood. Please consider donating even if you don't participate.

The ride will also function as a fundraiser in Randy’s memory. We’ll take donations online via a secure platform (Zeffy) and split 100% of the proceeds equally between the American Cancer Society and American Heart Association (Note: Randy was in remission from cancer when he suffered a fatal heart attack). We picked Zeffy for its reputation and because it takes zero fees, so all money collected will go to the organizations. We have a $2,500 fundraising goal.
