Vounteers Needed for 2018 Bicycle and Pedestrian Counts
Columbia Association and Howard County’s Office of Transportation need volunteers to help count the number of bicyclists and pedestrians on pathways in Columbia and on-street locations along Route 1.
The counts will be held between Thursday, May 31 and Thursday June 13 in two hour increments. This information will give CA and the Howard County Government a better understanding of the number and the demographics of people who walk and cycle along these routes, validating the impact of past improvements and informing future infrastructure investments.
Please click here to sign-up to volunteer. We will be accepting volunteer registrations until Monday, May 21. Selecting more than one date and time is welcome and encouraged. The earlier you sign up, the more likely you are to get the count locations you desire!
Your confirmed time slot and more information on the counting process, including the date(s) and time(s) of the bicycle and pedestrian count training will be sent by email on Thursday, May 24. A training session will be offered for new Bicycle and Pedestrian Count Program volunteers on Wednesday, May 30 from 6:30-7:30pm at Columbia Association Headquarters (6310 Hillside Court, Columbia).
If you have any questions or need assistance completing the volunteer sign-up form, please contact Jessica Bellah at Jessica.Bellah@Columbia Association.org or 410-715-3166.
