Join Us for Our 2024 Transportation Open House
Please join us, other County departments and offices, state and local agencies, and our partners to learn more about the planning, design, operations, and maintenance of the County's transportation systems on Tuesday, January 30th (inclement weather date is February 6th) for our new Transportation Open House.
Set to take place from 4:30 to 7:30PM at the Kenneth S. Ulman Innovation Hub in Columbia, this event has been planned as an opportunity for attendees to learn about and ask questions regarding the multitude of transportation options, modes, agencies, and projects in Howard County. It incorporates our previously held Active Transportation and Transportation Priorities Open Houses and includes additional topic areas including transportation safety, Complete Streets, transit and regional planning, roadway maintenance and operations, and more. It will also provide attendees with the opportunity to comment on the County's overall transportation priorities and approaches to solving common transportation challenges, as well as specific projects, including the extension of Montgomery County's Bus Rapid Transit service, Flash, from Burtonsville to Downtown Columbia.
Additionally, representatives from DPW’s Transportation & Special Projects Division will be on hand with information on the following projects as well as other multimodal projects in the design phase:
· Snowden River Parkway Sidewalk (MD 108 to Tamar Drive);
· Northfield Road Sidewalk Phases 2,4 (Southfield Road to Columbia Road);
· Deep Run Community Pathway (Deep Run Parkway to Mayfield Woods Middle School);
· Old Annapolis Road Sidewalk (Font Hill Drive to Old Willow Way);
· Frederick Road Sidewalk (Howard County Library System Miller branch to Underoak Drive);
