BICYCLING ADVOCATES OF HOWARD COUNTY

As a Friends of BAHC member you support the initiatives of the Bicycling Advocates of Howard County and you bicycle in Howard County. Our goal as an organization is to work with the Howard County Government, and other government agencies when needed, to improve the safety of roads in Howard County that are the most heavily used by bicyclists.

THE GOALS OF BIKEHOCO:

1. Develop a Howard County Bicycling Master Plan
2. Support physical road improvements (better shoulders turn lanes,etc.) and additional share the road signs
3. Foster driver and bicyclist education and communication initiatives.

WHAT WE'VE ACCOMPLISHED

• Daily link between Howard County officials and road crews on issues facing cyclists in HC
• "Share the Road" signs by County Highways and popular bike route roads
• Trained hundreds of new riders in ride safety
• Support Bike to Work Day
• Partnered with other organizations for new mountain biking routes
• Bicycle road condition surveys that resulted in new repaving and repair prioritization
• Implemented SeeClickFix
• Host Howard County Bicycling Advocacy Forum
• Connects HC Cyclists to similar regional and state advocacy groups
