Howard County Bicycle Master Plan

Howard County is developing its first Bicycle Transportation Master Plan to address bicycling for both transportation and recreation.

Bicycle Master Plan Goals & Objectives

  • Identify and develop countywide system of bicycle facilities to foster connectivity within and between the following: villages, communities and neighborhoods throughout the County, as well as neighboring cities and counties, parks and recreation centers, schools and educational institutions, commercial and employment centers, and regional and local transit facilities.
  • Facilitate recreational and transportation trips by bicycle in the County and improve safety for all types of bicyclists.
  • Recommend County policies that will support bicycling, including bikeway facility design.
  • Build public support for implementation of the Plan.

BAHC is pleased to have representation on the Technical Advisory Group.

We expect Public Workshops on the following dates (warning: all of the dates other than October 24 may be subject to change)
Workshop 1 – September 22, 2012 (Miller Branch Library; 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.)
Workshop 2 – October 3, 2012 (East Columbia Branch Library; 6:00 p.m.-8:45 p.m.)
Workshop 3 – October 24, 2012 (Advanced Physics Lab; 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.)
Workshop 4 – November 2012
